Everything about this series is beautiful.
The story begins in April of 1912, just after the sinking of the Titanic. It chronicles the lives of an aristocratic family and their servants at a time when the social lines that divided the upper and lower classes were fading, and a new middle class was beginning to rise. It is a well written, enticing script that depicts the rising, falling, and dividing of each class group with equal emotion and force. And the scenery is amazing. But, naturally, it’s the clothes I want to talk about.
You can’t tell from the angel of the picture, but in the bottom-right photo she is actually wearing pants. A kind of turn of the century all-in-one evening jumper!
I love the elegance of everything here. Each dress flows with the women’s bodies and gracefully highlights their natural movements. The evening dresses look elegant and comfortable, like walking around in a cloud of silk.
I want to create an entire wardrobe based on this show.
If you have more to add, please, let me see it!
