Introducing Keely Smith

She had a swinging style to match her sound…

When I was in high school a friend of mine gave me a Best of Louie Prima compilation album, and I loved it.  In every song Louie was swinging, horns were blasting, and rising above it all was the vibrant, melodic voice of Keely Smith.

She was the “straight man” of the act.

I really enjoy this series of videos.  The dresses she wears keep grabbing my attention.

Even when she didn’t sing, she brought the style.

I was inspired by her look, so I put together a virtual wardrobe I thought Keely would be proud of.  Here are a few of the beautiful things I found:

I consider ballet flats to be an essential wardrobe item, and I truly love the Bird Cage necklace.  Clean, simple designs tie everything in this collection together to create an understated, graceful look, and that is just what I think of when I see Keely Smith.
